Emerick Woods - Executive Chairman
Emerick Woods is a successful executive and entrepreneur having managed and founded several early stage high technology companies. As the Executive Chairman, Emerick is responsible for working with the management team and LocalAdXchange board to help the company become the leading local search and advertising company. Previously, Emerick was chief executive officer at Aligo, Inc, another venture-backed company focused on the mobile space which was acquired in early 2007. Prior to that, Emerick served as president and chief executive officer of Vicinity Corporation, a publicly traded company acquired by Microsoft, where he completed its initial public offering and successfully raised over $140 million. Before Vicinity, Emerick held a variety of executive and general management positions at Coherity, CastBridge, TuneUp.com, HP, Quarterdeck, Symantec, Central Point and Microcom as well as consulting positions at McKinsey & Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Emerick holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a B.Sc., Computer Science degree from Yale University. Emerick is a member of the World Presidents Organization. He also serves on the board or directors of Shelter Network, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization.
Anders Richardson, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Richardson is active in all aspects of deal sourcing, due diligence and execution. Prior to co-founding the fund with Mr. D'Addario, Mr. Richardson worked in the Investment Banking Division of DLJ and focused on public and private placements of debt and equity securities and buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory services in communications, media, and other related industries. Mr. Richardson sits on the boards of SOA Software and LocalAdXchange and is a board observer for Lucix Corporation, Avexus and Language Weaver. Mr. Richardson received a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Dipanshu "D" Sharma, Director
Founder and CEO, LocalAdXchange
Over the last decade, D has enjoyed working with a variety of entrepreneurs and companies, finding innovative ways to improve technology and business models. Beginning with his time at Nokia, where he was part of several wireless initiatives for mobile handsets (browsers, user interface, developer programs and design), D began developing new wireless technologies, now holding several published patents.
After leaving Nokia, D founded V-Enable/LocalAdXchange in 2001. V-Enable (www.v-enable.com) now holds a significant portion of the mobile local search and advertising market in US and is enjoying solid growth.
Aside from co-founding LocalAdXchange, D has also co-founded Rocketalk (www.rocketalk.com), the 5th largest mobile traffic site in India, and Kadonk (www.kadonk.com), no. 1 Microsoft Project Viewer.
In November 2003, he was awarded "Technology Leader of the year" by TeleFusion and in 2005 was nominated for Ernst and Young "Entrepreneur of the year".
Steven Murray, Director
General Partner, SoftBank Capital
Mr. Murray joined SoftBank Capital in 1997 and has over 15 years of experience working with high growth technology based businesses. His experience includes sourcing and managing venture investments, all aspects of mergers and acquisitions and significant corporate finance and accounting. He focuses on digital media technologies as well as a variety of technology based services.
During Mr. Murray's tenure at SoftBank he has been the principal senior executive responsible for billions of dollars of complex structured monetization strategies including initial public offerings, secondary public offerings, mergers, private sales, public market block sale transaction and complex collars. He also is the partner in charge of the financial and legal affairs of SoftBank Capital.
Mr. Murray came to SoftBank Capital from Deloitte, one of the world's largest professional services firms. While at Deloitte, Mr. Murray specialized in serving numerous high growth technology based businesses including Primark Corporation, Harcourt General and IDG.
Mr. Murray serves on the boards of several private companies, including Anystream, Voxant and Pivot Solutions.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS in Accounting from Boston College.
Robert M. Jaffe, Director
President Sorrento Associates
Robert M. Jaffe co-founded Sorrento Associates, Inc. as one of the first venture capital firms in San Diego with a number of prominent local San Diego business leaders. He has been involved in substantial areas of technology and new venture development, as well as corporate finance for emerging companies. These include more than 200 financings, mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Jaffe is currently Chairman of the Board of A-Life Medical, Inc. and Perlan Therapeutics, Inc., and a director of IPMobilenet Inc., LocalAdXchange, and Seat Advisor Inc. Mr. Jaffe also served as Chairman of the Board of Hot Topic, Inc. for 10 years. Under his leadership, Hot Topic grew from 6 to over 300 stores, became a publicly traded company, and had annual revenues increase from $3 million to over $250 million. Mr. Jaffe also served Chairman of Keylime Software, Inc., (acquired by Overture, Inc.), Vice-Chairman of Bebe Stores, Inc., and as a director of E.S.I. Software, Inc. (acquired by Macromedia, Inc.), Digirad Corporation (which became a public company), and Combichem, Inc. (acquired by Dupont Co.).
Prior to co-founding Sorrento Associates Mr. Jaffe was Vice President of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets where he was responsible for corporate finance activities of high technology companies in the Western United States. Previously, Mr. Jaffe was Vice President of Corporate Finance at Salomon Brothers, Inc. where he co-formed a group to advise high technology companies on financings and mergers and acquisitions. He started his finance career as an Associate in Corporate Finance at Goldman, Sachs & Co., and he worked on the partnership's direct investments. Prior to Wall Street, Mr. Jaffe was a member of the technical staff at Hughes Aircraft Company and a consultant at McKinsey & Co.
Mr. Jaffe received a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar, the School's highest academic honor. He was the recipient of The Loeb Rhoades Fellowship; an honor awarded by the faculty to the outstanding graduate in Finance. He graduated with a Master of Science as a Hughes Fellow from The California Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering, and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from The University of California at Berkeley in 3 years at the age of 20.
